Milk Can Side Table

So it all started with this milk can I picked up at a yard sale (last year). I paid a whole $5 for it. I had no idea what to do with it but I knew I wanted it. BAD.

It was dirty, cobwebbed and in need of a coat of paint.
So of course onto the back porch closet it went for about 12 months.
Until I saw this:

I knew immediately the fate of my $5 milk can. A cute side table for the back porch! So off I went to Home Depot to pick up spray paint and a table top. I picked up this
and unfortunetly Home Depot claimed not to have any wooden table tops but luckily my mom had one of these bad boys in the attic:

So off the top came and I spray painted the heck out of it and the milk jug. I attached  the two with a tube of Power-grabber adhesive.
And in the end I had this:

Trashcan Redo

So I was purusing Bed Bath and Beyond and they were clearancing their dorm life stuff and I stumbled across these uber cute trash cans for $5 each plus 20% off with coupon so a grand total of  $4.50 each.
Now they were cute and all but they weren't really my colors and I don't need another trashcan. But then my mom chimed in ( in all her wisdom) "why don't you use them as planters"- GENIUS! So I bought 2 and ran home to find my spray paint.

I used this color previously to paint a tray for the living room and had a can left. It covered 1.5 of the cans and I had to run to Lowe's and buy a second can. I probably spent about  $5 on paint. After a few coats I ended up with this (and a lovely yellow patch on my lawn):
So after picking up some mums at the local whole foods I styled the front porch with my new "planters" and wow does it look great!
